Boot Juice with Cartoon Moon

Boot Juice with Cartoon Moon

The evolution of Boot Juice has been a magnificent phenomenon to behold. Over the past few years, this seven-piece band from Davis has done things the old-fashioned way. They’ve earned it all with blood, sweat, and tears shed on stages throughout the region. And it’s been more sweat than blood, based on the practically inhuman level of energy they generate throughout the course of their relentless performances.

Boot Juice defies the typical assumption that a big band with horns is sticking to the well-worn path of funk and jazz. They certainly infuse those genres into the mix. More than anything though, this is an unabashed cosmic rock band intent on taking audiences into an alternate dimension of pure freedom and dance euphoria where the outside world ceases to exist.

If you haven’t yet seen Cartoon Moon, we want to know why tf not!!! A local supergroup to behold, Cartoon Moon is not to be missed. You’ve been warned.

Karl Denson's Tiny Universe with Ten Foot Tiger

Karl Denson's Tiny Universe with Ten Foot Tiger

From Japan’s at infamous Fuji Rock Festival to the hallowed stage of Madison Square Garden, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe has electrified audiences around the world for over 25 years. From performing as Sexual Chocolate (Karl was in the original band in the movie Coming to America and its sequel) at the Outside Lands Music festival in San Francisco, to being the first late night act at the inaugural Bonnaroo festival, KDTU have been a dominating force in music for the past 25 years.
All-night, sold-out concerts during Jazzfest in New Orleans have featured sit ins by everyone from Lenny Kravitz & Steve Winwood (with whom Karl has recorded and toured) to avant garde luminaries Marc Ribot & Boyfriend. Chuck Leavell and Bernard Fowler (Karl’s bandmates in The Rolling Stones where Karl replaced the great Bobby Keys as saxophonist in 2014) have joined onstage and on record, as have Lukas Nelson, John Oates, Michael Franti, Warren Haynes, Ivan Neville, Anders Osborne, Big Daddy Kane, Roy Hargrove, Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Joshua Redman, Marcus King, and Bernie Worrell, among others.
Touring the country with the Allman Brothers, My Morning Jacket, D’Angelo, The Roots, Public Enemy, Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead, Parliament Funkadelic, Slightly Stoopid, and Widespread Panic, very few concert goers have been untouched by the Tiny Universe live. In addition to KDTU, Karl Denson aka “Diesel” is a founding member of the seminal groove act The Greyboy Allstars.

Since its inception, Ten Foot Tiger has adapted and evolved into one of Sacramento’s most unique bands. With a sound beyond traditional categories, they’ve found themselves absorbed into the jam-band scene, although they stand well outside that label with their catchy indie-pop like tunes. They have poignant and provocative songs as well as powerful improvisations that stem from so many genres there’s “something for everyone” says frontman Dan Green. But it is undeniable that their exhilarating live performances make Ten Foot Tiger a must see for any music lover.

Based in Northern California, BCB includes Kyle Ledson, Django Ruckrich, Mei Lin Heirendt, and Sam Jacobs. Though still in their youth, they are no strangers to the music industry. All four musicians are seasoned performers, multi- instrumentalists, singers, & songwriters, and they have quickly established themselves as one of California’s most prominent up-and-coming string bands. As their notoriety bubble expands exponentially, they are easily categorized as the new breed in the jam band scene.

Late for the Train is a modern string band rooted in American folk and bluegrass music. Infused with the honest depth of the coastal redwood forests and the heartfelt community of Northern California, the group provides a playful and poignant musical experience that uplifts the spirit and rouses the soul.

Dogs in a Pile

Dogs in a Pile merge funk, jazz, and rock ‘n’ roll with psychedelia, offering a completely original vibe built on kaleidoscopic soundscapes eerily reminiscent of yesteryear.

The Dogs employ a unified approach to performance and songwriting, crafting aural mosaics through adept instrumentation and humble precocity. As avid storytellers, they draw inspiration from personal experiences, balancing life’s foibles with ever-present youthful sanguinity.
